For anyone who is counting, yes, I've missed weeks four and five of Frugal Still Life. Week Four (trying to create a still life like the Master Painters) and using metering modes honestly had me totally stumped. 1. I don't have any props that fit the bill. 2. I need to find my camera manual. I don't know how to change metering modes. Week five was about using complementary colors. And well, I just haven't gotten to it!
But week six - food photography - all over that one!
Here I have most of my delicious omelette in focus and you can see my plain white Corning Corelle everyday dishes and my Oneida flatware. The flatware was mostly wedding gifts. And I haven't felt the need to have actual silver or change my pattern in over 28 years!
Zooming in a little bit and changing the perspective, I love that you can see the green on the pear slices.
Close Up with a much more shallow depth of field. And in case you were wondering, this was my lunch. A three egg omelette with havarti cheese, anjou pear slices, and sliced almonds. It should have also had sliced bacon on top, but I wasn't in the mood for it this particular day. I learned this combination while in Phoenix with Deb and have finally perfected the at home version! Yum!
I am also linking up with Helena's Zoom In Zoom Out meme. Click on the link to see what other people are photographing today!

great images and a fine example of the value of a white background to remove all distraction from the main dish
These are fantastic shots Cheri! And it makes me hungry . . . except, of course, I'm always in the mood for bacon! LOL
I've missed weeks 4 and 5, too, but we have sunshine today, so I'm hoping to catch up all three weeks if I can get my chores and errands done by mid-afternoon. I thought of a few props for the old masters set-up and I have my camera manual out to look up the metering modes.
beautiful!! I love the soft colours..
Hey, that's cool that you replicated your Arizona omelet! It looks yummy, and your photos look great.
Great shots....and the omelette looks delicious.
This looks absolutely yummy and delicious. Both the food AND the photography! I find food photography extremely difficult. I just have some really bad one on my blog, due to the fact that I was working in the kitchen which is kind of dark and everything looks "wrong" because of the light (even though I worked on the white balance!). Well, we don't have to be perfect all the time, I guess...
BTW, omelette with cheese always sounds good to me!
I like the variations here, my favourite is the close up where you can see the green on the pears and the brown on the almonds. I've not had time to work on the Frugal class - hope to catch up tho' :)
It looks lovely and it looks lovely, if you see what I mean! Delicious to eat..and that lovely clear light makes for a special photo too
Yum, is right! I know I'd love that omelet, and your ZIZO is just wonderful.
This is just beautiful Cheri, it looks good enough to eat;) Great ZIZO and FSL which I have forgotten about this week. I am still not happy with my Old Master and have changed my mind (yet again) about the contrasting colours!
Sans bacon, that sounds like a fantastic and well balanced meal. I"ll definitely have to give it a go. I missed the food photography prompt (a really bus week) but might double up this week.

Great shots...and I love the sound of that omelette!
