And that isn't a glass jar - it is plastic. From the dollar store. But it IS really and truly how I store my washi tape! So I just tucked the blanket into a chair, laid out the jar and tapes and then started photographing from various angles. The sun was coming into through sliding glass doors to the left. The chair is a swivel base, so by just turning the chair, I was able to adjust how much light was on the subject. Turns out, the least amount is what worked best (it was a bright day).
And the washi is ready for it's close up!

Really lovely for both ZIZO and Frugal Still Life. Washi tape is so cheerful isn't it?
Gorgeous! I love it.
Oh you know this makes me smile - happy washi tape!! Great shot for week one of Frugal Still Life & perfect for zoom in/zoom out, too!
Super still life! I love the teal throw and I too have my washi tape in a plastic container (a cashew nuts container) with a red lid. Great job on week 1 of Frugal Still Life Photography!

Great shots, that is a lovely idea, now have washi tape envy. Enjoy the course
Love them both. The focus on the close up is perfect, and I really like the texture and Old World Master feeling you got in the first one. I would not have thought of tucking the fabric into a chair, but it creates a perfect backdrop. Thanks for the idea.

Great improvisation! Love the colours in both photos.
Gorgeous colour throw! I like the range of colours and textures here. Good combination of ZIZO and still life too :)
Love this photo,Cheri....love the composition.....love the colours...love all your washi....love how you store it.
fabulous pair - gotta love washi tape. Great idea to drape fabric over a swivel chair - I'm going to be using that idea
Good one, Cheri!

What a cheering pair of photos on a very grey and wet day here! I love the splashes of colour against your teal background ... (Much nicer than black!).
You did amazing work, Cheri!!
Both shots are great - I love them! Wonderful practice as well! You have lovely washi tape. I enjoy working with it as well.
I once took a photo (well, several photos) of the glass jar in which I store some of my ribbon. It was such fun to take all these shots from different angles and close-ups as well. Your photos reminded me of that.
LOVE, love the colors in your shot of the blanket and the washi tapes! I like the first shot the best, too!
I also meant to say that I like the idea of using the swivel chair for the back drop arrangement! Cool idea! I might have to try that the next time! Thanks for the inspiration!
Love the fact that you combined the two and how resourceful you were. Its a great pair and thanks for the idea of tucking some fabric into a swivel chair and the suggestion of how to store my washi.
Hi Sheri, Lovely background and the colorful tapes ... looks so pretty ans energizing! It's going to be a creative 6 weeks in the classroom, I look forward of being inspired by you and everyone else in the class :)

Great shots! I love the idea of using a swivel chair - how clever! And I'm drooling over your collection of washi tape.
Both shots are great; my favourite is the close-up version.
Great combination for your class - love the idea of using a swivel chair for something like this - TFS
