One Little Word | Captured | 8

Going... going... gone!

Last week we had temperatures top out  in the low 60's on Thursday and upper 60's by Friday afternoon.  It was enough to allow the snow which had lain frozen on our yard for over six weeks to finally melt.

Photo one is 8:45 a.m. on Thursday 2/17 - on my way out to work.

Photo two is 4:00 p.m. same day, as I came home from work.  Definitely more yard showing, but I was surprised by how much snow was still left.

Photo three is approximately noon on Friday.  By Saturday morning it was all green (well, dead winter green) except for the spots where snow had been piled when shoveled.  There is still snow at the curb line.

I was so HAPPY to finally see the yard again and to spend ten glorious minutes out on the back deck Friday afternoon soaking up the sun!

But being the little tease that Spring is, she went back into hiding on Saturday morning, leaving us instead with temps back in the 30's and winds running 40 to 50 miles per hour!  As if the cold wasn't enough...

Imagine how not-so-thrilled I was to wake up this morning to this:

Shame that 'happy' was a bit short lived....but it can't be long now til Spring finally gets there!!
There's signs of it here now....though it's still pretty cold.
Looks [from her blog] like Sarah's having a fine time in London.

Oh no - more snow! We've had temps in the 60s and 70s the past week or so, sunshine and breezy. I've been sitting outside some each day soaking up the sun.

Your grass looks no worse for the wear! It is high 70s today. I'm so ready for real Spring!

I feel your pain! I'm glad we spent a good deal of Saturday outside!

Same here, except we have so much snow in our yard we didn't see the grass even with two days in the 50s. Then last night we got 3-4 more inches. I'm more than ready to say good-bye to winter.

Great photos! Our snow also tried to melt, however we had 4 foot to start with :) Lost about 1/2 of it and then it snowed another foot+ today :) I'm cheering for spring!

More snow?! It certainly makes it hard to start thinking about getting some spring clothes out and ready for wearing.
