LOAD213 - Days 1-3

I'm taking part in LOAD again this month - I love the challenge of getting a bunch of pages done in a tight time frame and then taking a break - this has worked for me before, so we'll see how February goes!

Prompt 1 was to create a layout without words - to use the papers, embellishments, and whatever else you add to the page to convey an emotion or feeling. And while I have some amount of trepidation about sharing this layout, in the interest of my One Little Word - "Dare" - I'm daring to go ahead and do it, despite the misgivings of my inner critic (who I'm telling to hush and go away).

Day Two's prompt was to scrapbook "The Perfect Day".  I temporarily passed on that prompt in favor of getting my Storytelling Sunday post into a scrapbook layout - here's the result:

Day 3 the prompt was to scrapbook something that is often overlooked, but should be appreciated.  I took the opportunity to combine the prompts from Days 2 & 3 to come up with this layout about Ocean City, NJ:

I think this layout also works for the Telling Tales prompt to use a series of photos to show action or tell a story. Not much action going on here, but that is the story... being at the beach is all about kicking back and relaxing! We've just booked a property for a week in July and I'm already giddy with anticipation!

All three of your layouts are great, but I like the last one best.

Good for you Cheri!

I'll be looking forward to seeing more of your LOAD layouts this month.

I've missed these in the gallery as well. I don't have time to go through it carefully since there are so many! These are great. I love the layout about the rings, and the last one (my fave) is just wonderful---the photos you chose really tell the story and I love the design.

It's lovely to see the story about the rings down on paper!

Once you had made the layout without words, did you feel it was a useful exercise? or was it simply frustrating? I'm asking as someone who fights a constant battle to find space in a design for enough words. I'm always torn between having white space and having a long story. You always do a fine job!

These are great layouts, Cheri, and I'm so glad you shared the first one - it's gorgeous! That inner-critic can be a real "B" sometimes, can't she? I know mine messes with me at the worst possible times.

You did good, girl! xo

I'm doing some catch up today, and I love all three of these layouts. My favorite is the first one, though, I think.

I'd like to know if you found the wordless photo page a good experience. I'm another who struggles - I can do it if I know it is illustrating something that will have words too somewhere else...

But it it is a pretty page :)

You are really doing well with LOAD & Dare!
