One Little Word | Captured | 5

This is my "One Little Word" necklace. I bought the original necklace (24" ball chain) and "enrich" charm from Lisa Leonard Designs back in January of 2009.

In 2010, with my b-i-g little word "wholehearted" it didn't occur to me to purchase another piece of jewelry. Now I'm glad it didn't!

With the current fashion trend of cluster necklaces, I decided to go for it and add charms for my 2010 and 2011 words. My challenge was in finding charms that would maintain the look and feel of the original piece - and one that would actually fit the entire word "wholehearted" on it!

After a bit of internet browsing, I found exactly what I was looking for at Heart on Your Wrist.  This was one of the few sites that allowed ordering charms without the necklace where the option was right in the ordering info - no emailing for a special request! And now that my necklace is complete with my "happy" word of 2011, I really love the look and feel of the whole piece!

Thinking into the future, assuming I continue participating in One Little Word, adding a charm each year may become too much for a necklace.  But it would make a stunning little charm bracelet just packed with personal meaning! To which I could add some sea glass beads, maybe some turquoise... oh my mind is just whirling with the possibilities!  But for right now, my One Little Word necklace makes me very HAPPY.

Life…as I see it

Love this. I have a necklace from Lisa that I love, but your two new charms are just lovely. What a great idea!

I have been eyeing these necklaces for a little while - they are so lovely - I am sure I could find an Australian equivalent if I searched hard enough!

By the way - love the changes over here too - the blog looks great Cheri :-)

Absolutely love that 'happy' heart, it looks perfect with the other charms too. But yes, I agree, you may need to change to a bracelet once you get more to your collection.

What a great idea to keep adding your new words every year! This is the first year I am doing OLW and I have a Lisa Leonard necklace with my word "renew" and I'm already sad at the thought of not wearing it next year...with this idea I could just add to it!

Wow... I LOVE this, Cheri! I'm more of a bracelet person myself, so I can see the gravitation toward that more than the necklace, but the charms you've chosen are fabulous. Like I said, I LOVE it! Great idea.

Oh I love this idea, Cheri! And I've always loved the charm necklaces anyway. What a great way to collect all those little words that mean so much to you. I'm inspired!

That's really, really lovely :-) Great idea to cluster the charms, and build up to a charm bracelet one day!
