Mixing It Up - Post Five

But with a twist... I did NOT mix it up this week!

The Being Me theme for this week is happy and here is the page I made for that:
The background is a really fun technique that I will likely revisit.  Just glob several colors of paint on your page and then spread with an old credit card or gift card.  Creates a fun marbling effect! The color combo - lime green, bright yellow, and various shades of turquoise truly is my personal summer palette and the colors make me happy!

The Summer of Color challenge combo for the week is sage and sepia.  And this is what I came up with:
The butterflies are actual lace. The owl is from a paper napkin.  The "remember" is ribbon.  The girl is a Unity stamp. All of the stitching is from an OLD set of rub-ons.  I love the way this page came out and how the elements worked together.  And I'm really going to miss this challenge now that it is ending. Working with specified color combos forced me out of my comfort zone and into areas that really allowed me to capture feelings.

Love your happy page, Cheri. And your summer color challenge turned out great too. I wouldn't have thought to use sepia and sage together, but the color combination is really pretty.

Fabulous pages Cheri, the top one screams you but the tones on the sage and sepia are wonderful - excellent pages!

Really like both pages - maybe you need to find some more colour combo challenges... Love that quote about listening to your soul, lovely idea.

Very cool pages. I adore your sepia sage pages. The lace butterflies really go well with the colors and the saying is fantastic. Your girl is very pretty too.

Don't you just love how easy and quick that scraping background is? And have you noticed how quickly the paint dries on the page?

These are two beautiful pages. Although I came to see your stunning SOC entry, I really enjoyed seeing both journal pages.

A good reminder to think about scraping! And I love the sage and sepia page.

I love credit card scrapping, and so fast and fun. The safest way for me to use a credit card!! :)

Gorgeous use of the SOC colours. Really love that spread, such a powerful message as well.

You make it sound so easy, but I am betting it needs a lot more skill than you are letting on :). The top one is so full of energy and fun, but I also like the subtle contrasts in your second one too.
