Whether you arrived here from Lisa's Blog as part of the One Little Word Blog Hop, or you are here because you love me and drop by regularly... Welcome! I love visitors! The One Little Word Blog Hop is a monthly hop run by Margie for members of Ali Edwards' One Little Word class over at Big Picture Classes.
Our December assignment was to complete this sheet closing out our word for the year and reflecting on the facts and feelings surrounding it. I know that "focus" was a good word for me and that I learned a lot about being productive and staying on task. At the same time, I had some colossal failures at long-term goals, so I'm clearly still a work in progress!
It doesn't really show up on the scan of this sheet, but I used a subtle grungy art journal style background and brown ink around the edges on this ... IRL it really looks much nicer (very artsy), but you'll have to take my word for it... I don't have the time or energy to get a photograph taken and edited!
I am not posting my Tracker sheet for December - I got caught up with the holidays and family and did not keep up with it at all. But it is a "FOCUS" trick that I fully intend to carry into the new year!
I will be continuing with One Little Word in 2013 and I am so excited about my new word... DARE! This word came to me repeatedly in early December - in a phone call with my sister, in an email exchange with Deb, in reading I was doing. And I'm ready to take it on. Dare to be ME - even with my own family who often don't see the real me (I'm seriously more afraid of their disapproval than anything else in the world). Dare to try new things. Dare to accept more social invitations. Dare to take the 30 day Paleo challenge. Dare to learn more photography skills. I think DARE will be a good way to bring more fun and enjoyment to everyday life as well as a way to push me outside of my comfort zone from time to time.
Do YOU have a word for 2013? What is it? Inquiring minds want to know!
If you are following the hop, your next stop is Ruth's blog. The hop goes "live" at 9 a.m. PST, 12:00 EST, so check back later if you arrived too early to catch everyone - it is a short list this month. If you get lost, here's the whole list:

I love your term 'small, actionable goals'.....I should bear that in mind myself more often!!
That is a great word and shows such growth, I think. I thought I had chosen my 2013 but then changed it last night. I love what I have chosen and will reveal it on Friday.
Congratulations on keeping up with your monthly tasks.

That is a great word to choose. I often think yes OK but dare is a word to get excited about. Good luck with it and happy new year x
Oh we talk about small actionable goals here all the time - what's the next thing to do? If there isn't one redefine.... David Allen's Getting Things Done has influenced me on that - as has Steven Covey's 7 habits...
I've really enjoyed seeing how we both tackled FOCUS this year, look forward to hearing about the Paleo challenge and seeing where DARE takes you through this year.
Yes, you're a work in progress but I've admired the progress I've seen you make! DARE was on my short list for 2013...I have a feeling I'll be working it into my year in one way or another. Happy 2013!
Oh, I cannot wait to see where DARE brings you this year! You are going to ROCK IT of that I'm sure. As a dedicated uni-tasker, I read your observations and just kept nodding :)
Happy New Year my friend!
DARE sounds so exciting = can't wait to see where it takes you in 2013. Happy New Year fellow OLWer
Dare is a word that appeals to me too. I think you will really take on the challenge of DARE.
Oh, dare is a good word for 2013. I can just imagine all the wonderful things you are going to try. Have you ever ridden in a hot air balloon? That was one of my dares and I did it. Makes you feel just great to do something unexpected by you and others. Have fun with your word.
Congrats on sticking with your word throughout 2012 - sounds like it was a great one for you. Now I'm looking forward to hearing about all the things you dare to do this year! :>)
Dare is my 2013 word also. Strangely enough, focus was also my 2012 word. I loved reading your wrap up and look forward to following where "dare" takes you this year.
I think you learned a lot this year. I'm not sure any of us ever manage to meet all our expectations for a new year. Dare is such a challenging word. I'll be anxious to see where it takes you. Happy New Year!
It was good to see how last year's word has ended with you learning a lot about yourself and what suits you.
Dare is a great word. We are all guilty of just jogging along in our comfort zone but need to have a little push sometimes to step outside and challenge yourself. Good luck!
It's great that you stuck with your word throughout the year. Love your new word, can not wait to see where it takes you.
