Beyond Layers Challenge

I've been a member of Kim Klassen's Beyond Layers class for all of 2012, but got lost after the first few months and mostly ignored it.  She's offering Beyond Beyond for 2013 (discounted pricing is still valid) and I've decided to re-up and try to go back through some of what I missed in 2012 as well!  Class begins January 23rd if anyone is interested in joining in.

Today she offered us a great tulip photo with a black background and a challenge to play with it.  My results:

My recipe -  To Kim's original photo I added:

KK texture 1301 on overlay at 75%
KK texture paperstained music on color burn at 60%
Pioneer Woman "lovely & ethereal" action
a quote

It was fun to take a few minutes to play - no purpose, it won't likely get used for anything...

Lovely. The music background/texture is wonderful. I, too, did not keep up with Kim's class and am going to give it my best shot this year. Looks like you're off to a good start:)

Good for you for pushing forward! I loved her free skinny mini class. I think I bought a more advanced class but never jumped in. I really want to some time though.

I think it did get used for something: a beautiful blog post. It's really cool, Cheri!

Wow - it turned out lovely.

I started my new job yesterday, and Robbie and flowers delivered to my classroom so everyone really could see the flowers! :>)

I'm in the same boat with Kim's class. Got a little lost about week 5 and just never got back on, but I'm back again.

I absolutely LOVE what you did with the photo!

It's just lovely! You couldn't print it onto photographic paper and make a card? The depth and delicacy is stunning - the music staves are such a perfect background ...

Although Alexa already used the word, as soon as I saw the image my first reaction was "Stunning!" and it is! I never followed through with Kim either, but I've got too many other photography projects this year. I'll be looking forward to seeing what you do, and appreciate the recipe you added at the bottom of your post!
