I started with this.
Adding Kim Klassen's "Sienna" and "Finale" textures and several hue/adjustment layers, I ended up with this. The goal was to make it look like a painting. I think I get that in the sky, but not sure about the rest of the photo. Not thrilled with the end result, but I
did play, and I learned a new way to use the hue/adjustment layer in photoshop, so that's cool!

I like both photos a lot. This one is a perfect choice for textures. Have you done anything about organizing yours? I have a lot from Kim and have a hard time knowing which ones to apply. I've been trying to think of some categories for organizing them, but haven't come up with anything.

I think you are right. It does look like a painting right down to the water level. Good Job. Lots of hard work. :)

It's always hard to get the image translated correctly from what youhave in mind! This is a great photo and looks good in either way. I also find just using the filters can give great effects, especially if you are after a specific painted look.
I like how "dreamy" the second photo turned out. Just lovely.
Super cool, Cheri. As someone who just began to use textures, I'm really looking up to you at this point. I can only hope to understand and be able to apply them as beautifully as you someday!
