"A Little Sunshine"
Today's prompt was to find our own sunshine, even if the weather was cold and grey.
I got a couple good macro shots of the Amaryllis plant in bloom. In this first shot I used the "burn" tool to block out the distracting background stuff from the dining room table.
In this second shot I used the "dodge" tool. I can't decide which I think is more effective. Which photo is more evocative of sunshine to you?

Tough choice. I think I slightly prefer the one with the black background - purely because of the depth of contrast. But they are both great photos!
I think they both are....but I prefer the first one.....I love the clarity...and the red on black.
I like the red on black and that is my absolute favourite John Denver song...well about sunshine anyway. ;)
Oooh, both are gorgeous. I think the one with the black background makes the flower more starkly pronounced... like it is the ONLY thing holding sunshine upon it. The second one is very pretty though, but it says to me that there is sunshine all around... great shots, Cheri! :)
I love the sharp contrast in the top one - feels as if that sun is really strong!
I love them both - but maybe if I had to choose, the first has a great contrast. You are persuading me that I need to get my PSE up and running ASAP
They are both beautiful! And Sunshine on my Shoulders always takes me back to Girl Scout camp days, one of the leaders with her guitar. Ah, the 70s. lol
I'm agreeing with everyone else, I like the first one best :-) Must experiment with these options in my own PSE!
