Take Twelve - December

I'm way late in posting this, but I did participate in Take Twelve during December. In fact, on the 12th I took the day off work to participate in Big Picture Classes 12-12-12 event that was broadcast from Maui. Although I didn't create the album (or even any of the pages... yet) that were showcased during the event, I did watch the live broadcast at the top of each hour.  I used the day to do some creative stuff and to get all my Christmas packages ready to post.

Kira decided to steal the ribbon I was wrapping with and try to make off with it. (In that first photo of Kira, do you see the very bright orange and yellow albums near her feet?  That is what those altered albums looked like to start).  The kitchen counter shows definite evidence that a messy teen lives here. I got some process shots of the mini albums I was making as gifts.  I took screen shots of the chat on BPC and got the calendar/clock shot for 12/12/12 at 12:12:12 p.m. I thought it was so cool! (I know Mel will appreciate this).  I made penne & cheese for dinner (we were out of macaroni noodles) and by the end of the day I had completed my gift albums and had six gift packages ready to mail!

Another new take on the Take Twelve prompt - this is all random photos from my morning walks in August.

Take Twelve - July

I'd grown bored of trying to document "a day" so for July, I decided to document products that are part of my everyday life.  These are the ones where I am brand loyal and won't use anything else (unless I have no choice). I'm curious to see if in a few years I'm still using the same brands on a regular basis. Since I switch around with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, I didn't include those, although they are definitely part of my morning routine!  What about you?  Are you brand loyal or will you use whatever is on sale?

Just A Quote for Friday & Take Twelve June

There is a good reason they call these ceremonies "commencement exercises."  Graduation is not the end; it's the beginning.  ~Orrin Hatch
It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.  ~e.e. cummings

Okay, it's two quotes, but seriously, what can I say to these two who have graduated high school and are ready to take on the world?  One thing would be to remind them that this is just the beginning - that they have their whole lives ahead of them. The other would be to encourage them to follow their bliss - to not get bogged down by expectations and materialistic aspirations - to find what truly makes them happy.  I wish someone had given me that advice when I graduated.

Take Twelve - April

still using the same template, but decided to pass on the journaling block and run a couple of photos across two blocks.  The pretty butterfly embellie in the title block is by Katie Pertiet at Designer Digitals.

Take Twelve - March

Totally forgot to share this! I wasn't terribly inspired this month, but at least it got done!

Take Twelve (12 days late)

As part of my Twelve class with Stacy Julian, I decided to participate in the Take Twelve challenge over at Ella Publishing.  So yes, these photos were taken on the 12th of January.  But it took me until last night to actually get them scrapped.  I used Cathy Zielski's 20/20 template, available at Designer Digitals, but put text in the photo box and photos in the text boxes! Too fun!
