LOAD 1-5

Playing along with LOAD this month - my one opportunity this year to really make some progress on my digiscrapping!  Here's what I've accomplished so far:

Day One - two page layout about 911.  I did the journaling back when this event actually occurred, knowing at the time that I was living an event that would end up in history books. But I hadn't been able to bring myself to create the layouts until now.

Day Two - already finding it hard to keep up, I grabbed this QuickPage from Studio Miki "Holiday Trimmings" collection.

Day Three and another QuickPage.  This is a really old one and I can't remember the artist.

Day Four - stacked papers & elements from Studio Rosey Posey's Shabby Magic kit.  Frame from Studio Flergs Estranged Kit. I really wanted to use this photo bigger, but it was a screen grab from their facebook feed and poor quality so I had to keep it small. Brittany has been a friend since grade school and her relationship with my daughters is honestly more like a sibling than a friend!

Day Five.  Finally documented opening the shop.  The majority of the bits of this layout come from Studio Rosey Posey's Graziano Kit, although I mixed in a few papers from her Discovery of the Heart kit. The elements just feel perfect for the vintage vibe of our shop!

Love the last two pages - perfect kits for those photos.

As soon as I saw the title of the post, I thought, "good for you!' I don't even get the emails for this any more, but I'm already impressed by your accomplishment. My fave? The one about your new shop, which I would love to visit.

I'd love to do a LOAD, but I need to reorganize my photos to do it.

Love the layout about 9-11. I downloaded some great photos at the time but always struggle with the story. Your story will be the inspiration for my page. Maybe I will FINALLY get it created. BTW: We have been in the antique business for over 40 years. Both part time and full time. The business has changed. The younger people don't necessarily want "antiques". They want something that looks good in their house. Now we only set up at antique shows. Lots of work but fun also. Love the customers and love chatting with the other dealers. Good luck with your shop.

You know how much I always admire your work rate when you do LOAD. I was very glad to read in your journaling that you think your shop stocking skills have really hit their stride. Great stuff!

Great layout! I especially enjoyed the 9-11 ones - I really want to document that day, too, and the following week as it's a huge part of mine & Robbie's story. (He was supposed to fly into NY that day but his boss changed their tickets the day before!) And those papers and such are perfect to reflect the vibe of the shop!

I'm in awe of anyone who can scrap at this rate and still produce great pages. I would fail miserably! So glad to hear you've figured out the best things to stock in your shop. It's often surprising.

Glad to hear that the shop is doing well and you are both still learning and enjoying it. The Quick Pages are good for keeping up - but still look stunning :)

9/11 pages are powerful - thankful you scrapped them.
