Oh I do so sympathise - - only with me it is the crows! And I remember when I was a girl and first read "What Katie Did", I could never work out what a "katydid" was - reading your moment has reminded me of that. Hope it soon stops bugging you. J x
You definitely got a great shot with that one. I would not have known what type of bug it was. When I hear their sound, it just reminds me of how hot it is! They seem to love the heat around here.
We have our share of crickets that chirp all night - drives me CRAzy!!! And don't even get me started on cicadas. We have a lot of them and their sound is almost deafening at times.
Ah I remember hearing Katydids and searching for them as a kid. Here it is traffic - which sadly is around all year :sigh: But I love hearing the owls.
The sound of the crickets and cicadas I heard t night when I visited the States as a teenagers has always stayed with me: we don't have either here and I was fascinated by the background sound
I have never heard of a katydid! But I'm pleased we don't have them in the UK by the sound of things. To me, the sound of cicadas is wonderful. Because I only get to hear it when I go on holiday somewhere hot, so it means I'm relaxing in the sunshine somewhere. England seems very quiet in comparison!
The noise of this little bug I don't know but will go off and google! When I am abroad in warmer climates, I love the sounds of the cicadas and crickets too. Your moment is very evocatively recorded - I felt as if I was listening to you speak :). Thsnk-you for joining in this month again!

What a great moment to capture - we often forget to record the annoying things . . . that will be gone by winter!
