I had a rocker that I sat in before each of the children were born, but I didn't use it much once they were born - crazy hey?! Does it take you right back each time you sit in it now?
oh that's beautiful, and all ready for sitting and reading to grandchildren in the future - and that's how you will be remembered by them way WAY into the future. Not a bad legacy eh?
Oh that ia such a fabulous "precious"to have. I had a rocker for my first baby too - I didn't keep it sadly - you have made me wonder where it is now? Thanks for sharing - your chair is a definite keeper! J x
Oh, this is a lovely one! Especially as its style sets it right in that time you want to remember. I hope it gets plenty of use a bit further down the line when a few Grandchildren appear :)
Your page is a perfect backdrop for your precious rocking chair. Let's hope one day you have the pleasure of introducing it to a new grandchild. There is nothing more soothing that rocking a baby to sleep I find!
Rockers rock! It's perfect for writing, reading, and parenting… I have one, but it's not as special as yours (it's from ikea), but it serves its purpose. Cheers from France,
I had a rocker - in fact we had two. Both were given away to a friend at different times, when we decided we really didn't have space for it here. A new rocker is on my list for the next house.
The rocker I used was an antique, handed down from my grandmother to my mother to me. It has such a big foot print and is so old-fashioned that it won't "fit" in any of our rooms. But I refuse to get rid of it. It's in my garage. Maybe once Henry moves out, I'll recover it and put it in the room (which will become an office and craft room). Rinda
Oh I agree - the rockers used for our babies is precious. Mine broke after our second child but I made sure to find someone who could repair it. Thanks for sharing your story - and the page!

I love the way you've told this story! Now I'm wondering who has the rocker I rocked my babies in.

Yes, the rocker is a keeper! I didn't have a rocker, but I did have a sofa bed that I sat on a lot during The Boy Child's first year.

I like the fact that even through changing fashions, it still has a place in your home :)
I love the way the rocker has moved around the house but has never left!

That chair looks so loved and comfortable - no wonder it still has a place in your home and in your heart.
Beautifully told, I bet you have so many memories when you sit in that lovely chair.
I love this story so much. How wonderful that you still have a place for it in your home but more importantly in your heart. Love your LO.
I really wanted a chair just like that when my own babies were born but it wasn't in the budget. I am glad you kept it and I love your reading nook.
Lovely story that every mother can relate to even those that have never had a rocker like me.
