Just a quick update since so many have asked... we are fine! We survived Hurricane Sandy and are well and safe. We had one bad night of sustained high winds and our power was out for about 20 hours - had to toss almost everything in our refrigerator - but we had no property damage and no lost trees. We were very fortunate. Others in the area lost huge trees, for many the power is still out (I can't image being days on end with no power) and schools are still closed. A week off school for a weather issue is unprecedented around here. It is with all of this in mind that I give you this week's Friday quote...

A perfect quote to begin the 30 days of thankful project I would say!
Great shot Cheri, love the reflections.
That's a Dickens quote I've never heard before....but very, very apt....so glad you weren't too badly affected by Sandy,Cheri.....the news over here is full of the devastation it caused.
I wonder....has the way Obama behaved over the last few days helped your decision? There's been a lot of praise for him over here.
So glad to hear you guys made it through the storm ok. I love that quote, and I have the first part of it (ending with "every man had many") in a frame and hanging on our living room wall. :o)
Gosh yes, I echo what Amy says - I might need to add that quotation to my gratitude journal somewhere!
Most thankful to hear that you were relatively unscathed xx
Great quote and photo and so glad you are okay!
And a stunning photo to go with that very thoughtful quote - just lovely.
A fitting quote for this week! So glad y'all survived without damage, but it's heartbreaking to see all the damage from Sandy.
It's the perfect quote, and I'm glad to hear from you!!!!
