Hello October

In lieu of the "Hello Monday" posts, I'm thinking about going with a monthly format like this. Haven't fully committed yet... we'll see...

Currently...

Fighting a monster head cold/sinus infection that is making me feel like crap, has completely knocked me on my ass, and has me down for the count.

Feeling very guilty that I haven't been doing much blog commenting lately. To all my blog friends - I may not have the energy to comment, but I have been reading everything and thoroughly enjoying all your posts!

Reading Daring Greatly by Brene Brown (currently #1 on NYTimes advice Best Seller list) and Happier at Home (currently #7 on the same list) by Gretchen Rubin. I truly enjoy both of these authors and highly recommend their books (and no, these aren't affiliate links and I don't get anything for saying the books are good!).

Wearing sweaters. I haven't switched over the closet yet, but I know the time is coming soon!

Struggling to stay organized and caught up with all the various things I want to do.

Learning to use my Canon 60D camera. Yes, I finally got the DVD to work on my laptop yesterday and watched most of it!

Savoring the moments when I can truly see the leaps in growth and maturity of my daughters and enjoying the glimpses of the adults they are rapidly becoming.

Watching Autumn unfolding before my eyes.

Anticipating a quieter, more laid-back, stay-at-home kind of month.

Thinking about Christmas. Yes, already.

What is happening currently in your world?

The closet is well and truly switched over over here....not to mention the central heating....it's a really wet and chilly start to Autumn.
Hope you're soon feeling better, Cheri.

Wearing warm sweatshirts, lighting the multi-fuel stove, pondering the flu vaccination (had an allergic reaction last year). Hope you'll be feeling much better soon...

Sorry to hear you've been so sick! I need to do some serious thinking about Christmas myself.

Sinus and blog reading do not go well together! This I know from experience. Hope you feel better soon.

Still warm enough for shorts here, but delightful warm, not hot. No foliage turning colors, it just drops off in about another month. I'm quilting my heart out, working on all kinds of Christmas gifts and Project Linus quilts, and so looking forward to my trip to Houston on Nov. 1st. And feeling like a 50 year old!!!

What a nice meme. I intend to fully enjoy October before turning to thoughts of Christmas.

So sorry to hear you're not well - wishing you a speedy recovery xx

I've been thinking about Christmas lately - just a little bit! Done some gift shopping, planned my JYC journal, thought about Christmas crafts to do with my cardmaking class...

I hope you are feeling better as we head into the weekend. I have been totally focused on getting ready for the ladies' retreat I've written & will be leading next weekend. Then the month will slow down for me. And, it will be time for a day at the Texas State Fair!

So good to read your list. Many of the same things going on here. I can't wait to get Happy at Home to read! I loved her first book.

Hope you are feeling better, I too have spent a while being beaten down by a virus. Did manage to read Happier at Home. Brene Brown's last book is on my to do list - unearthed while sorting out a pile/shelf in the bedroom, it had fallen down behind and been forgotten.
