Take Twelve - September

Going to Corsicana, I took only what I could fit in a 12x12 plastic envelope for scrapbooking. Some papers,  foam dots, a couple packs of Thickers, a single chalk ink, a supply of butterfly embellies.  No tools at all - I wasn't paying extra to check luggage and I knew most of my tools probably wouldn't be allowed through security.

Paper scrapping without your normal "stuff" is... well... ummm... an interesting endeavor. I was  lucky that the BPC gals in Texas were very generous and accommodating. I borrowed scissors, trimmers, and a couple styles of liquid glue and glue dots. I was gifted bits of washi tape, Cricut cut letters, ribbons, brads, and paper flowers to complete my layouts. I ended up buying a few more sheets of papers, a sticker embellishment sheet, a set of Thickers, some washi tape, 2 bottles of spray mist and a tube of paint.  I just wanted so badly to play!

Of course, I had to leave the spray mists and paint with my mother, to be sent back to me at a later date.  What did I miss most of all from my tools??? My ATG gun. Never realized just how dependent I am on that baby and how no other adhesive does quite the same job!  I also missed the well marked cutting lines on my Fiskars trimmer. The old grey version borrowed from my mother just wasn't the same.

What an interesting, thought-provoking post! Fascinating to read about your 'must-haves', but it's also made me think about my own. Might just have to scrap my own version of this, thanks for the inspiration :)

Your must haves are so similar to mine. Most of them I couldn't live without either.

What a great idea for your Take Twelve layout - so glad to see washi tape made the list! :>)

My must haves have changed a lot in the past two years - nothing is more frustrating than not having the right cutting equipment!

I agree that cutting equipment and adhesives are probably the most important tools of all....and I have to admit to never having used washi tape yet.

My paper cutters (one large, one small) and the perfect adhesive are my two must-haves. I made a list some time ago of the things I used over and over on my layouts and cards. It encouraged me to let go of some supplies I had accumulated earlier but never "made my own." I must admit I almost never miss them. I should do it again.

Yes, I think I'd really miss my trimmer too. I'm interested by your adhesive gun - I've never used one of those though I do hear good reports of them. A really nice way to pull together a twelve!

The ATG adhesive gun looks so large and bulky. However, I imagine it is easy to use or you wouldn't like to so much. I only use adhesive when I make cards--all my other layouts are digital so no need for adhesive. I don't think I would do well at a crop since I only have a desktop computer and not a laptop. Can you just see me carrying in my whole unit along with the printer? I shudder at the thought!

What a fun way to do Take 12! Wonder what it will look like next year? :)
