It seems that Mother Nature is hell-bent on providing us with the most memorable March on record. So she shoved Old Man Winter back our direction in the form of Winter Storm Toby - the FOURTH Nor'easter this month:
It started on Tuesday night (yes officially the first day of SPRING) and this was our view by 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. While Riley was the worst in terms of catching us unaware, leaving people stranded everywhere and lots of downed trees and wires, Toby was the one with the most significant snowfall in this area.
And yes, the backyard neighbor put his fence back up in between storms.
The snow collects and fills up our deck like a swimming pool. When the storm was over, you couldn't see the bottom horizontal rail at all.
After these photos were taken, snow continued to blanket the area through the wee hours of Thursday morning. Everything was closed on Wednesday and many places are having delayed openings today. I was grateful to once again ride out the entire storm from the safety of my own home.
When all was said and done, we got about a foot of snow this time. When Spring actually does put in an appearance in this little corner of the world, I think we'll see folks happy dancing in the streets! But as you can see, it will be awhile yet before we see daffodils.
Anything blooming in your little corner of the world?

Your Winter has been as crazy as ours! They were talking earlier about more snow at Easter. I've seen quite enough of the white stuff for this year! Hoping Spring is with us both soon.
We, fortunately, escaped any of this latest storm. We've had sunny skies, but our yard (facing north) still has over a foot of snow in it in places---no grass to be seen. A block or so away, the park is only about half snow-covered (faces south), but it's way too cold for any signs of spring. Tonight's forecast is for warmer temps a week from now. Glad everyone rode out the storm safely.
Come to Texas! Spring is springing, warm, lovely days, no mosquitoes yet...trees starting to leaf out and a few plants in our back yard are flowering. Should have a zillion blooms on our Indian Hawthorne in a couple weeks. The grass is just starting to turn green again. Bermuda grass goes dormant in the winter and turns brown. Then all by itself, when it decides its time, it turns green. Then its up to you to keep it that way. April is our best month usually (except for tornadoes and hail). May can be good, or too hot, just depends. But if you get tired of snow, drop in for a few days! We always have room and company is always welcome!
You have captured some real beauty in your photos. But I agree enough of snow & winter.
Spring has sprung in Nashville! It's that time of year where it's cold in the morning, but warm by noon! I know you northerners hate the snow, but I'd like to have a good one now and then! We're lucky if we get a little dusting every year.
You certainly have had more than your fair share of snow this year! I've had enough of Winter, we put our clocks forward an hour on Sunday to mark British Summer Time, I hope that the weather listens and warms up the temperatures!
OH, my, that certainly does NOT look like springtime!
This reminds me a lot of the crazy winters I experienced in Germany. To be honest, I don't miss it one bit. I hope that spring will come to your corner SOON.
