Holding On and Letting Go

Well, it is official. As of today, I am no longer the mother of teenage girls.

They went from this:

To this:

all before I think I really even got the hang of being a Mom.  Today I am the mother of three "twenty-something" daughters. I'm so proud of them all. And so thoroughly freaked out. I mean, look at them! So, Happy Birthday to Rachel and Becca. Hope your 20th is a day filled with fun and love. And to all three of you:  You mean the world to me. I love you and I am so proud of you all.

Just a Quote for Friday:

“All the art of living lies in a fine mingling of letting go and holding on.”  Havelock Ellis

What wonderful young women you've raised. I'm a few months behind you but was thinking the other day Tigger turns 20 soon, so Princess is only a few months away and then all of my 'teens' will actually be in their twenties. I've not got used to that thought yet :)

Letting go is so darn difficult, isn't it? I still have a few years, my girl is 15, but those few years will go by faster than I even think today. All the best to your girls!

You have raised three beautiful girls, and you are right to be proud. I know it is a strange feeling when your youngest turns 20 - you wait until they are 30!!
